I forgive you, Kramer. You're that rarest of rarities... a Lib who can admit a mistake.
A reflection on the hysterical bullshit that's clogging the arteries of true political discourse in America.
I forgive you, Kramer. You're that rarest of rarities... a Lib who can admit a mistake.
Gotta Love It...
Here's an example...
1. richeous : A misspelling of the word righteous, Dumbass.
Finally, an online dictionary that fits me.
Palin foe gets administration job
Remember that "serious" Troopergate scandal which dogged Palin through the campaign?
Well, one of the Democratic principals involved in pursuing the case, Alaska State Senator Kim Elton, has been given a high-level job in the Obama Interior Department. Hope and Change!
Here is Elton, holding up the menu at Dennys.
Nice. Read about it here. (Et tu, CNN?)
Mission Accomplished, Senator Elton. Enjoy your 30 pieces of silver. I hope they buy you what you so richly deserve.
Thanks to your new boss, precious metals are really turning out to be a wise investment these days.
"...Honest Leadership..."
Remember Vietnam? I sort of do... I remember black and white TV images of the war... mostly choppers and foot soldiers scurrying around. I remember a lot of people at home screaming about the war... saying we couldn't win and all that.
As I got older... after we had withdrawn from Vietnam, and the mood in the country was pretty bad at best... I remember hearing a particularly ironic phrase that was supposed to sum up our war effort in Vietnam;
"Sir, in order to save the village, we had to destroy it."
Heh. Gallows humor... no doubt referring to the infamous "zippo raids" where we would torch entire villages in desperate attempts to deny the Vietcong a place to gather and hide. It was no doubt put forth by the liberals of the day who, during that time, did manage to use protest and civil unrest to sow the seeds of doubt in a war-weary populace. It suppose it was cool back then... I think "Chic" was the term used most often... to bad mouth out military... our country... anything dealing with the established order. So the phrase, "...In order to save the village, we had to destroy it," became a nice way to portray our action in Vietnam - bumbling, mindless, and ultimately harmful.
What most people back then didn't know... couldn't know... what with the endless barrage of negative images put forth by the major media outlets of the day towards both the war and the Administration waging it (sounds kinda familiar, doesn't it,) was that our end-all be-all defeat... the TET Offensive... while presented as a crushing defeat for our side, was in fact a game-changing loss for the Vietcong. They put everything into a last-ditch effort to defeat us militarily and failed. They were stopped... turned back.
In the end, the military loss for them turned into a propaganda loss for us - perpetrated on our country by a liberal media hell-bent on ending the war - even if it meant doing it's best to see that we lost it.
So now... at the ripe old age of 42, I can think of a new phrase for the surviving members of the "Hell No We Won't Go" crew... like Willam Ayres and such...
"In order to stop the war in Vietnam, we did our best to lose it."
I'm not sure spitting on our soldiers and treating them like pariahs afterwards was really necessary though... but since when have liberals been very good at practicing all the platitudes they most preach? (For instance... how's that Repulican Culture of Corruption slogan working out for you guys these days...? I sense an ethics Karma Boomarang fixin' to swoop in on the Dem's pretty soon... but not if NBC, CBS, CNN, and ABC have anything to say about it, lol!))
Now here I sit... in 2009... with a shiny and new liberal Democratic Administration... watching my country weather an economic perfect storm of external and internal forces which seem hell-bent on turning our markets and currency into a bad joke. I hear how bad things are now... but how terrible things will be if a new way of thinking is not adhered to... yet all the while each new and seemingly illogical step to "save" us seems to make the situation incrementally worse.
"The Market is tanking... so let's do some more things to make it worse..." that seems to be the rule these days. It's been said many times that "Pride Goeth Before The Fall," ( a loose adaptation of Proverbs 16:18) and I can't think of a better example than now... each time I see a fresh, new, Democratic face on the 'tube telling us how they "know" what needs to be done next, I smile and shake my head. As a rule, I never trust people that demonstrate over time that they "know it all." A person in power without a small dose of reflection and, dare I say it , self-doubt, is reckless... dangerous... and often times a self-righteous ass. But that's just me... your mileage may vary.
But despite it all, I have to laugh and find the irony in this whole mess. An the catch-phrase that has been giving me a chuckle all afternoon...
"In Order To Save The Country, My Fellow Americans, I'm Afraid We Have To Destroy It..."
Oh, sweet irony... "Honest Leadership..." Even Pelosi can't keep from smiling... Laff Riot!
I knew when we decided as a nation to elect the Community Organizer over the Navy Man that our enemies across the globe would be encouraged. Hell, I guess I would be, too.
Al Qaeda Declares War on Obama
Resurgent Russia Challenges U.S. Diplomacy
Less "Hope and Change" from these two... more like "We'll Bury You" ala Khrushchev... right after we poison you with radioactive polonium 210.
I'm sure our new President will do fine... as long as he doesn't have to make an unpopular decision. But what's our Commander-in-Chief to do when that moment inevitably arrives? I guess that's why Joe "the Bumbler" Biden was on the ticket... to give "the One" advice in his times of need.
Or a convenient scapegoat.
I'm reminded of the old coaching adage:
"You never know what's in a kid until he's squeezed a little...
Chicken Salad or Chicken Shit."
I guess we're about to find out.

Thanks to Obama, more turds like these will be coming soon to a battlefield near you! (or shopping mall, or subway, or airline) Hope and Change!
In general, I can't wait to see what the Democratic Majority does with its new mandate (hey, 51% of The People can't be wrong, eh?)
I hope Obama's running of the War on Terror goes better than Pelosi's "cleaning-up" of Congress... she did promise to do that after the so-called Republican Culture of Corruption didn't she?
12 Jan 2006 - House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi today announced the formation of the "Clean House Team," a Democratic task force to address the Republican culture of corruption and lead the charge in restoring honor and dignity to the House of Representatives.
"It is long past time for the Congress to address the systemic Republican culture of corruption that has undermined the American people's confidence in this institution," Pelosi said. "I am proud that some of the best minds in our Caucus will be leading the Democratic effort to clean up the corrupt Republican Congress. These great leaders will work to restore truth and trust to the People's House."
How's that been working out for ya, Nancy?
14 May 2008 - Approval of Congress has dipped below 20% for only the fourth time in the 34 years Gallup has asked Americans to rate the job Congress is doing. Today's 18% score, based on a May 8-11 Gallup Poll, matches the record lows Gallup recorded in August 2007 and March 1992.
190 days and counting! Chris Dodd still refuses to release info on his sweetheart mortgage. Nor is there any inquiry into his and Barney Frank's lack of oversight of Fannie May and Freddie Mac.
22Jan2009- Barney seems to have more interest if the institution has been dealing out th' bucks (-SS)
"Troubled OneUnited Bank in Boston didn't look much like a candidate for aid from the Treasury Department's bank bailout fund last fall.
The Treasury had said it would give money only to healthy banks, to jump-start lending. But OneUnited had seen most of its capital evaporate. Moreover, it was under attack from its regulators for allegations of poor lending practices and executive-pay abuses, including owning a Porsche for its executives' use.
Nonetheless, in December OneUnited got a $12 million injection from the Treasury's Troubled Asset Relief Program, or TARP. One apparent factor: the intercession of Rep. Barney Frank, the powerful head of the House Financial Services Committee."
I wonder how far the investigation of Murtha will get after the new Attorney General is in place? ...Hopefully it will go as well as the case against Democratic Congressman William Jefferson. How about figuring out why Chuck Schumer can release confidential documents on a bank Friday and it fails on Monday? And how's Bill Richardson doing back home with that "pay-to-play" scandal? I'm not even going to go on about Charlie Rangle...
What's the matter, Nancy... running out of energy?
19 Sep 2008 - The sudden pro-drilling makeover of the Pelosi Democrats has always had an air -- a gale, really -- of election-year convenience, and the House proved it Tuesday by passing an energy bill that would put any bunko man to shame. This confidence trick won't expand domestic oil-and-gas supplies even a bit.
Good thing we got those "corrupt" Republicans out before any real harm was done!
Surprised you aren't hearing more about this on CNN/ABC/CBS/NBC ? Don't be - they did everything they could to get "their" party back in power... they aren't going to let you hear anything that might upset the ol' Dem applecart.
Enjoy it America. You wanted the Dems back in power. I hope you enjoy every second of it.
